Early treatment

Bringing your child to see a Specialist Orthodontist can set them up for a lifetime of healthy, happy smiles. Early intervention treatments can reduce the chance of tooth decay and tooth extractions, and even prevent the need for more intensive treatments later in life.

Early treatment

When should my child start seeing an orthodontist?

Though we can enhance your smile at any age, your child should have their initial visit as young as seven years old. At this early age, orthodontic treatment may not be necessary, but Dr Daniela can examine your child’s smile to determine the most opportune time to begin treatment.

Early treatments

Why is this the optimal age for a smile assessment?

By the age of seven, your child’s first adult molars will probably have grown in. Dr Daniela will be able to tell if teeth are growing in such a way that will create and overbite or crossbite before the issue worsens. Timely screening will ensure that your child’s smile grows in a healthy way, and can reduce the length and complexity of their orthodontic treatments.
